Responsibilities

Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for proper monitoring of all financial activities on the assigned contracts according to the requirements of Urban Pathways and all regulatory and funding agencies.

• Maintains and submits all necessary documentation and reports accurately, in a timely manner and as required by Urban Pathways, regulatory and funding agency policies, and procedures including but not limited to:
• Competes all government billing within the deadline established by Urban Pathways and/or funding agency.
• Completes all bank reconciliation in a timely manner as established by Urban Pathways.
• Prepares and submits all necessary journal entries and/or any other types of adjustments necessary to complete monthly and annual close on time.
• Keeps accurate filing system which can be easily accessed by other finance staff, if needed.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• One to three years of accounting experience with high volume bank reconciliations knowledge required.
• Fund accounting experience preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
• Significant experience with automated general ledger systems, Financial Edge a plus.
• Fund accounting experience preferred.
