As a CAD Designer at AirCorps Aviation, you will play a crucial role in bringing historic WWII aircraft back to life and supporting the modern aerospace industry by modeling aircraft parts and assemblies. You'll be working with original engineering drawings, transforming them into precise and detailed models that will guide our skilled fabrication team.
Applicants must have a solid understanding of SolidWorks (or similar CAD modeling software), drafting techniques, 3D surfacing principles, and familiarity with engineering terminology. Strong math skills, mechanical aptitude and familiarity with CAD/CAM equipment and platforms is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create solid models, detail drawings, and assembly drawings from original engineering drawings
Produces high quality part and product designs and generates detailed engineering drawings, free of errors, to be shared with fabricators and/or vendors.
Studies issues identified during fabrication to improve existing design.
Proactively identifies issues to minimize potential for scrap materials and rework of parts.
Proficiently uses computer-based and online software and systems daily.
Effectively uses systems to communicate project needs with other team members, maintain relevant compliance data, and monitor task completions.
Consistently be at work and on time
Contribute to building a positive team spirit
Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations, including drug & alcohol testing policies
Seek new ways to improve personal productivity and shop systems
Performs additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Job knowledge through suitable education or prior work experience
Demonstrated ability to create precise 3D models and detailed assembly drawings
Be able to read, write and speak English clearly
Be able to interpret and work from original two-dimensional engineering drawings
Proficiency with modern CAD/CAM systems (preferably SolidWorks)
Knowledge of GD&T principles
Ability to modify parts and assemblies to rapidly adjust designs.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds at a time.
Experience with manufacturing processes and materials
