Schedule Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pmMinimum Starting Wage:CMA: $20.78LPN: $25.14Job Description:A Brief OverviewCMA: Provides accurate and timely information to visitors and callers. Responsibilities include pre-certifying with insurance companies, filing, scheduling, maintaining records in the Electronic Medical Record system, processing patient specimens, and direct patient care. This role assists providers with office procedures. Administrative tasks include scheduling appointments, billing, coding, and maintaining medical records. Clinical duties include taking and recording vital signs, documenting medical histories, preparing patients for exams, drawing blood, and administering medications under physician or advanced practice provider direction. Adaptability to varied tasks is essential.LPN: Assists medical provider in the care and treatment of patients with a variety of illnesses. Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures; maintain patient records; and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patient for examination, and administering medication as directed by provider.What you will doCMA:Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.Change dressings on wounds.Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.Help physicians or physician assistant examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies and equipment.Collect co-pays, coinsurance, and past due balances and record transactions.Operate equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.Perform general office duties such as answering telephones or completing insurance forms.Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician or physician assistant.Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, and information such as test results in medical records.Schedule appointments for patients.Set up medical laboratory equipment.Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.LPN:Regular and reliable attendance.Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.Assess the needs of individuals, families or communities, including assessment of individuals' home or work environments to identify potential health or safety problems.Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.Direct and coordinate infection control programs, advising and consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions.Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.Instruct individuals, families and other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention and childbirth, and develop health improvement programs.Conduct specified laboratory tests.Record patients' medical information and vital signs.Qualifications:CMA:H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) RequiredGraduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants Required1-3 years experience in a medical office PreferredKnowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
