We are proud to offer exceptional medical, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays, profit sharing, 401K, weekly paychecks, and more FUNCTION: Under the direction of the construction area manager, the asphalt paving superintendent is responsible to communicate instructions and expectations to construction paving crews and the foremen as well as organize, plan, schedule, and delegate work, labor, and equipment. KEY ACTIVITIES: + Visualize, define, plan, communicate, and implement the company vision and core values. + Monitor employee training and certification. + Maintain division recruiting, hiring, promotion, and corrective action. + Communicate instructions and expectations to construction paving crews and foremen. + Communicate project issues and concerns with project manager and the customer. + Visit and inspect each job site daily. + Organize, plan, schedule and delegate work, labor and equipment. + Assist in all project cost control and measurement tools being used on the project. + Review, understand, and adhere to all contracts. + Maintain insurable driving record. + Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: + Ability to multitask + Excellent customer service skills + Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills + Knowledge of all equipment used for job and how to use it + Ability to read and comprehend drawings and blueprints + Ability to use a computer and software programs: (HCSS, HeavyJob, Outlook, Word, Excel, ect.) EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: + High school diploma or general education degree (GED). + Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry preferred. + Experience in the asphalt paving field preferred.
