The School of Preventive and Therapeutic Sciences is seeking applications for the Dental Clinic Front Desk Administrative Assistant. We are seeking someone who wants to be a part of the Dental Program team and is dependable, organized, reliable, enjoys interacting with people, and detail oriented.
Excellent customer service skills, including a high level of phone etiquette and in-person reception skills. In-depth budget and fiscal skills to include data entry, maintenance and reporting of financial data, and processing transactions for payment. Confidentiality and professionalism are required at all times. Knowledge of or ability to learn and use dental office systems. Knowledge of databases and computer programs. Ability to perform specialized complex clerical work and a wide variety of clerical services requiring independence, judgment, and initiative in determining office needs. Ability to prioritize and organize work, and determine the appropriate action to be taken. Ability to coordinate large/specialized projects. Ability to determine which methods of performing the work are most efficient. Ability to use judgment in setting priorities for a wide variety of clerical processes in support of the Dental Program. Ability to create reports for management using data gathered from various sources.
Ability to coordinate events. Ability to use computer scheduling programs.
Required: Clerical /reception experience in an office setting
Preferred: Clerical /reception experience in a medical office setting and experience with Electronic Health RecordsMinimum Qualifications:
High School graduation and three years office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Associate degree preferred. Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) preferred.
Position Details:
This position is located on the Goose Lake campus in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 77, based on education and experience.
