Location: Position is hybrid and is located at The Ledger - 240 S. Main Street, Bentonville, AR. Incumbent will preferably reside in Northwest Arkansas with the ability to regularly commute to this location (average in office time 3-4 days / week with the other days allowing remote flexibility). Candidates will be considered who reside within the Arvest Operational Footprint (Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma). Those who reside outside of Northwest Arkansas can expect to report to an assigned office space at an Arvest Facility and expect to travel quarterly on average. We are seeking candidates who possess a strong executive presence, including past experience developing and presenting communication strategies and plans in partnership with executive leadership. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams and build an inclusive and inspiring work environment. Job Title: Director of Corporate Communications Under the limited direction of the Executive Director of Transformation and Execution, the Director of Corporate Communications will effectively serve as the gatekeeper and approval point for all internal and external communications. The incumbent is responsible for providing strategic leadership for all communication strategies, policies, and analytics designed to ensure a clear, cohesive, and relevant flow of information that supports the organization's mission, values, and brand identity. While providing oversight for all internal and external communications, the Director of Corporate Communications will partner and collaborate with Arvest leaders and other identified stakeholders to ensure timing, quality, quantity, and the effective use of delivery channels. These channels may include email, digital channels, push notifications, and other internal systems and technology. Collaborates with the Arvest Change Management team to support enterprise-wide change communication throughout the company. Owns communication programs and technology, including policies, governance, and strategies. Solid and proven abilities in project management, oral and written communication skills, and a highly collaborative leadership style are essential to success in this position. What You Will Do at Arvest: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Provide professional and strategic guidance on communications methodology to organizational leaders. Develop and implement effective policies and procedures to ensure Arvest communications' quality, relevance, and timing. Maintain a broad understanding of the company's communication needs and advise leadership on best practices at all levels.
  • Accountable for decision-making regarding the Corporate Communication organization, establishing the structure of the unit and its internal processes, and defining and ensuring quality standards.
  • Partner with and support communication efforts through large-scale enterprise projects through the Technology and Operations organization and other key divisions to ensure a positive change management outcome. Manage the communication strategy, including content creation or review, scheduled timing, and audience.
  • Accountable for content compliance across the organization with designated Arvest Design Language (DLS) standards. Directly manage the DLS Senior Content Writer.
  • Responsible and accountable for the Corporate Communications policies, including developing and overseeing internal and external communications calendars, email policies, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) policy, the Do Not Call Policy, and the Language Access Policy.
  • Serve in a leadership role for crisis communications, ultimately responsible for developing and managing internal and external crisis communication strategy. Serve as a member of the Business Resiliency Committee.
  • Responsible for communications programs. This includes the Language Access Program and the Internal Communication and Collaboration Program. Accountable to ensure program strategies, policies and governance are created, approved, and communicated. Support associate understanding of communications policies through education and leadership.
  • Build collaborative solid relationships and credibility with company influencers.
  • Identify company communication coaching and training needs. Explore solutions and provide coaching, mentoring, and internship opportunities as needed.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of current and emerging technical applications to facilitate robust communication strategies at a corporate level. Accountable for identification, implementation, and communication aggregation tools, including system access authorization.
  • Lead and develop direct reports into a team of skilled communications professionals.
  • Drive enhancements, set direction, and improve performance of all internal communications and collaboration platforms to deliver effective and engaging digital information resources for all Arvest associates.
  • Using analytics, measure the effectiveness of communication efforts and adapt the strategy as needed.
  • Serve on corporate committees to support major organizational initiatives, contributing to the development and coordination of relevant, effective communication strategies.
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to completing compliance training and adhering to internal procedures and controls; reporting any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations; and reporting any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • 8 years of experience developing and implementing effective, detailed communication strategies required.
  • 8 years of demonstrated ability to create successful stakeholder engagement experiences (including change management and buy-in) across multiple business lines and levels required.
  • 5 years of management experience required.
  • Proven ability to lead and engage with all levels of management required.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Financially regulated environment experience preferred.
  • Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members.
