EPD (Electrical Power Dispatcher) is responsible for the safe, efficient, and economical operation, monitoring and utilization of the GRC Lewis Field High Voltage Electrical Distribution System.

All Electrical Power Dispatchers shall be permanently assigned to the Central Control Building 143 and shall work on a rotating two or three shift basis including some weekend work.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

· Provide oversight and control of the high voltage power system.

· Write and review detailed switching orders to isolate electrical equipment, so that work can be performed on it safely.

· Maintain the Power Dispatch Log:

· Record all activities in substations, unit subs, and buildings.

· Record all lock-out/tag-out switching order activities.

· Record other pertinent information related to the electrical power system.

· Implement lock-out/tag-out following all safety requirements as defined in the GRC Safety Manual, Chapter 9.

· Follow and implement applicable High- and Low- Voltage Operating Instructions.

· Maintain the power distribution log and associated files both in paper and electronic forms.

· Maintain up-to-date High and Low voltage single line diagrams and properly file previous versions.

· Stay in contact by radio or phone with various field personnel including:

· High Voltage Crew

· First Energy Corporation – when required.

· Respond to various alarms and alerts on the electrical system.

· Provide system data, operations, etc. to engineers, system managers, construction managers, and other personnel as needed.

· The EPD shall coordinate with Government and other support contractors to help trouble-shoot the high voltage Central Process Distributed Control Systems (CPDCS).

· Quarterly each power dispatcher shall be involved in observing a switching order, testing, or any other high voltage action in the field.

· Maintain tagging records and annually inspect permanent tags, long duration tags, and similar tags in the field.

· Monitor High and Low Voltage Power system using the CPSDC Consoles.
