Description JOB TITLE: Estimating Assistant REPORTS TO: Estimating Manager SUMMARY Supports the estimating team by managing documentation, providing administrative support, maintaining cost accuracy, and ensuring organized record-keeping for all projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Assist in creating, reviewing, and organizing proposal packages and related materials.
- Organize and maintain bid documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide administrative support to the estimating team, including scheduling and proposal milestones.
- Facilitate communication between the estimating team, Business Unit Leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Regularly refresh costs through quarterly updates based on new material and vendor quotes.
- Collaborate with the estimating team to integrate updated cost data into project estimates.
- Maintain a Bid Tracker and disseminate updates to the estimating team and management.
- Maintain organized records of bid-related documentation and submission histories.
- Generate and collect Request for Quotes from subcontractors and vendors.
- Support the Estimators in preparing comprehensive bid proposals and submitting bids.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY No formal supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry
- Knowledge of production management, logistics, and supply chain concepts and methodologies
- Proficient with MicroSoft Office suite of products and associated software applications
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - May require a bachelor's degree in a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area helpful but not required
WORKING CONDITIONS - Most work performed in-person or remotely under pressured, fast-paced conditions; frequently requires overtime
- May require some travel
- Minimal exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights
