Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fiber Optic Installation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of fiber optic technology, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on fiber optic networks.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine the best installation methods.
  • Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve technical issues.
  • Document installation processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support during installations and repairs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in fiber optics required.
  • Proven experience in fiber optic installation and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic technology and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor and confined spaces.
  • Ability to work at heights and in challenging conditions.
  • Ability to work overtime, if required.
  • May need to travel up to 25% of the time.
