Job Title: General Superintendent
Location: New York, NY
Job Overview:
As a General Superintendent, you will oversee the coordination of trade contractors, ensure adherence to the project schedule, and ensure that high-quality work is delivered on large-scale commercial and industrial projects in New York City. Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the Operations Manager, you will play a key leadership role on the construction site.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the day-to-day activities of trade contractors and sub-contractors to meet project goals.
- Manage the project budget for general conditions and site services.
- Develop, document, and communicate work plans, including field changes.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and enforce quality control policies.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to anticipate potential issues.
- Oversee and manage project schedules, including updates and contingency plans.
- Conduct contractor meetings and lead the coordination of jobsite logistics.
- Supervise daily reports, documentation, and the use of Procore for project management.
- Act as the primary safety representative in the field, promoting a culture of safety-first.
- Work closely with project teams to plan and manage project quality plans, shutdowns, and tie-ins.
- Resolve jurisdictional disputes and aid in the development of the project team.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in a superintendent role, managing $150M+ commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Experience with construction projects in New York City is required.
- In-depth knowledge of construction documents, scheduling, cost control, and all phases of construction.
- Strong experience in safety processes, with the ability to enforce safety plans effectively.
- Proficiency in managing a project team.
- OSHA 30-hour certified.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Procore.
Compensation:
- Expected salary range: $205,000 - $270,000, depending on experience.
