If so, the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is looking for a detail-oriented individual to join the NDOT GIS team, which provides cartographic and interactive maps and GIS data to the public or internal stakeholders. The Nebraska Department of Transportation is responsible for the planning, development, design, construction, maintenance, and administration of the state highway system. Our goals include preserving the billions of dollars Nebraskans have invested in their state highway system, making the highways safe and efficient, and accomplishing this in a timely and cost-effective manner. Come embrace our culture of innovation, growth, continuous improvement, and learning!Job DutiesYou will assist the NDOT GIS team in helping maintain the spatial Linear Referencing System (LRS) on highway, major, minor, and local roadways by performing the following duties:- Will use ArcGIS Pro 3.2.2 and Data Reviewer extension on performing quality control/quality assurance on the LRS network. - Heads up digitizing and line connectivity using Aerial Imagery and Snapping tools on the LRS. - Review tabular data sources to ensure both the tabular and spatial LRS match. Flag the inconsistencies. - Assist with NDOT GIS team on creating reports/analysis of the LRS cleanup project progress. Opportunities to perform additional duties may become available as skills and abilities apply.Requirements / QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Must be a three-fourths student in good standing majoring in a discipline or field related to the work to be assigned. Preferred Qualifications: Coursework, training, and/or experience with network documentation and systems mapping.Other:Applicants must be able to work at least 10 hours a week when classes are in session.Temporary full-time employment may be available during scheduled school breaks.Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent transportation.
