Role Description

This contract Human Resources Assistant role offers flexibility for remote work. The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day HR tasks, providing HR management support, ensuring compliance with HR policies, managing employee relations and staying up to date on labor and employment laws.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and provide support to management
  • Answers frequently asked questions from relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. and refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files, records, and documentation
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
  • Provides clerical support and project management support
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation
  • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks timely
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Monday.com
  • Proficient with creating and managing or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), applicant tracking systems and employee portal sites
  • Ability to provide Punctual, Respectful, Responsive and Personalized service to team members and clients

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in human resources, business administration, or relevant field
  • Prior related office experience preferred
  • Certifications in HR or related fields are a plus
