The Role:

We’re seeking an Industrial Engineering Intern to support our Manufacturing Operations team as we scale from prototypes to full-scale production. You’ll gain hands-on experience helping optimize processes, improve efficiency, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.

Location: NYC

Duration: 4 months

Hours: 12+ hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Support the operations in transitioning Voyant’s operations from pre-production to full-scale production.

• Assist in developing, documenting, and optimizing manufacturing and assembly processes.

• Help create workflow layouts, standard operating procedures, and assembly instructions.

• Conduct time studies, process mapping, and efficiency analysis to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.

• Support inventory management, material flow, and supply chain tracking initiatives.

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability, testability, and cost targets are met.

• Assist with data collection and analysis for production KPIs, continuous improvement initiatives, and process validation.

• Support cross-functional projects, including vendor management, equipment setup, and pilot production activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong analytical skills and interest in manufacturing operations.

• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work collaboratively across teams.

• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or process optimization is a plus.
