Job Description:
LMD Integrated Logistic Services is seeking an experienced, motivated and professional Intermodal Logistics Coordinator, with a strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service, to join our fast-growing, family-orientated organization. This position is responsible to oversee the daily management of shipments and ensure all deadlines are met. This includes dispatching, setting of appointments and preparation of shipping and billing documents.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate domestic and international shipments by Air/Ocean (FCL and LCL)/Truck/Express Courier on a daily basis.
  • Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads and select the most cost-effective method of delivery.
  • Communicate with customers on a daily basis regarding logistics-related issues while providing prompt service within a 24-hour turnaround period.
  • Sourcing properly vetted and permitted carriers to haul shipments pursuant to requirements.
  • Confirming carrier are legally permitted to transport freight, commodity, weight and dimensions.
  • Ensure documentation is accurately processed, distributed and released to carrier, customers and agents in a timely manner.
  • Work with Brokerage, CFS, or SSL to coordinate and monitor the release of goods from the carrier, Customs or other governmental agency examinations that may be required.
  • Continue to explore different options to reduce cost and increase revenues.
  • Maintain shipment files in TMS and ensure billing is completed timely.
  • Become an “on-the-spot” problem solver!
  • Collaborate with your teammates to make sure the work gets done.
  • Responsible for tracking and tracing loads to ensure customer requirements are met with on-time service.
  • Answer and resolve logistics-related billing questions as required.
  • Perform other duties as directed and assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ port/rail dispatch experience required to include Imports, Exports, LCL and Air Freight.
  • Experience with Hazmat cargo and requirements for transport preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office/WMS/TMS).
  • Processing orders through TMS system to ensure order accuracy
  • Demonstrate ability to complete all tasks with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Ensure professional, accurate and timely communication to complete tasks and resolve issues.
  • Work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organize and plan for multiple customer accounts at one time.
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills with the ability to grasp extensive knowledge while dealing with a variety of people.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret verbal and written requests and directions.
  • Must have the ability to compose emails and other written documentation clearly and concisely.
  • Should be driven, self-motivated and results oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Team focus – until everything is done, nobody is done.
  • Strong ability to persuade, motivate and influence others.
