Janitorial Duties

Performs general janitorial duties required to enhance and maintain the appearance of the facility, including the manufacturing and office areas.

Responsibilities

1. Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones
2. Maintain cleaning inventory, placing orders for new products when needed
3. Replace air filters and maintain HVAC systems if applicable
4. Empty trash and recycling bins
5. Stock and maintain supply rooms
6. Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
7. Clean and maintain restrooms
8. Washing and clean windows and mirrors
9. Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions
10. Operate floor scrubbers and other equipment
11. Dust furniture and fixtures
12. Make sure the establishment is clean and meets all safety requirements
13. Carrying out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
14. Waters plants as required
15. Clean breakroom, wipe down tables & chairs
16. Clean refrigerator and microwaves
17. Assists in snow removal/salting when required
18. Performs other duties as assigned by supervision
19. Follows all safety rules and practices

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions
• Attention to detail
• Strong time management and organization skills
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of material cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds
• Physical endurance
• Flexibility with working hours
• High school diploma or GED certificate (not always required)
• Proven working experience as a janitor 1-3 years
