Best Lending Co. is growing, and we’re looking for a motivated Junior Underwriter to join our fast-paced, tight knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in private lending and learn the full lifecycle of the loan in a family office style of operation. 💼 What You’ll Do

As a Junior Underwriter, you will support our underwriting team by helping review, analyze, and prepare loan files for approval. Responsibilities include:

• Collecting, organizing, and reviewing borrower documentation (entity docs, credit, bank statements, etc.)
• Evaluating collateral, including rehab budgets, appraisals/BPOs, and title work
• Assisting in assessing borrower experience, exit strategies, and overall deal strength
• Preparing and stacking complete loan files for senior underwriter review
• Communicating with borrowers, brokers, and internal team members to obtain missing documents and clarify file details
• Running and interpreting credit/background checks
• Ensuring files meet company guidelines, investor requirements, and compliance standards
• Updating internal systems and tracking loan progress from submission to approval
• Providing general support in pipeline management and operational efficiency

• 🔎 What We’re Looking For 1–2 years of experience in hard money, private lending, mortgage processing, or a related real estate finance role (preferred but not required)
• Strong analytical skills and an ability to assess risk
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Strong communication skills (via email & phone) with borrowers and brokers
• Ability to work in a fast-moving, deal-driven environment
• Comfortable with technology, LOS systems, Google Workspace/Slack
• A willingness to learn underwriting principles and grow into a more senior underwriting role
