Job Overview

Joseph of Cupertino Classical Academy is now seeking a faithful and talented teacher to fill a part-time role for the 2025-2026 academic year for a Philosophy Teacher. Joseph of Cupertino Classical Academy is located in beautiful Irvine, California at St. Thomas More parish.

Duties

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Create a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and fosters respect.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through regular testing, assignments, and feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and development in the field of education.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Those with a love for the language of the Church, the Catholic faith, and Catholic liberal education are encouraged to apply. This teaching position is for candidates with experience in instructing Classical Philosophy curriculum. A Master’s or Ph.D degree is preferred.
