Overview:
Responsible for performing overnight sleep studies on pediatric and adult patients. Responsibilities include equipment setup, patient preparation, and subsequent overnight monitoring. Implementation of hospital and departmental safety, infection control, and quality assurance measures are required. Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: HS Diploma/equivalent OR Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography program
Licensure: None.
Experience: 6 months experience .
Certifications: Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) certification; Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT); or has completed the AASM’s A-STEP program/Star Program; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.
Equipment Used: Polysomnographic recording instrumentation, PCs, accessory equipment.
Preferred Education: Additional college level biological science coursework preferred.
Preferred Experience: Health care work experience beneficial with Sleep Medicine experience.
