Job Description
Description The Recovery Coach will be hired to support the work of the Hampden County Addiction Taskforce (HCAT). The Rapid Response and Connection Team consists of a Program Coordinator, HCSO Deputy and a Recovery Coach. The selected applicants will be working full time with the team providing post-overdose outreach to individuals in Hampden County within 24-72 hours after an overdose occurrence and to those who are at-risk. The team will connect individuals to immediate treatment services, case management, and follow-up as well as provide support and treatment resources and harm reduction tools such as Narcan. Transportation of clients to detoxification facilities may be required. The Rapid Response and Connection Team uses the Critical Incident Management System (CIMS) to track real-time overdose data throughout Hampden County. The applicant will be trained and required to update information in a timely manner. The applicant will be required to attend mandatory HCAT meetings and report back to the team. This position will involve working with local law enforcement, community agencies, individuals and families, providing post-overdose outreach, treatment connection, and knowledge of substance use disorders.
This is a full-time, grant-funded position with benefits (healthcare, dental, vision).
Direct Deposit is required.
Requirements - Must have completed the Recovery Coach Academy with a total of three (3) years equivalent experience
- Strong observation skills and ability to make appropriate treatment and safety referrals based on solid knowledge of clinical theories
- Ability to communicate in a clear, direct, and respectful manner
- Strong crisis intervention skills
- Bilingual skills in speaking, writing, and reading English and Spanish are desired
- Strong computer skills including report writing, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work a varied shift if required
- Valid Driver's License
