Job Summary

The Release and Delivery Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the delivery of software, hardware, and system component releases across the enterprise. This role ensures that all aspects of a releasetechnical, operational, and logisticalare executed smoothly, on time, and with minimal disruption to ongoing business operations. The Release Manager works closely with Quality Assurance (QA), Development, Packaging, and Hardware teams to synchronize efforts, mitigate risks, and maintain detailed release documentation. This position is essential to ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the release lifecycle and supporting continuous improvement of release processes.

Success Factors

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple releases concurrently.
  • Proven track record coordinating across cross-functional teams including QA, Development, Packaging, and Hardware.
  • Attention to detail in documenting release schedules, dependencies, and risk assessments.
  • Strong communication skills for stakeholder coordination and status reporting.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts or risks that may impact release delivery.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines effectively.
  • Familiarity with release automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and refine release governance and standard operating procedures.
  • Experience with enterprise change management and version control systems.

Education and Experience

  • Required Education:
    Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related scientific/technical discipline.
  • Required Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience managing software, hardware, or system component releases.
  • Substitution: An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the required education.

Certification

  • Preferred:
  • ITIL Foundation or higher (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
  • Certified Release Manager (CRM)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE)
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
