Job Description

At Branch, we’re transforming how brands and users interact across digital platforms. Our mobile marketing and deep linking solutions are trusted to deliver seamless experiences that increase ROI, decrease wasted spend, and eliminate siloed attribution. Our Branch team consists of smart, humble, and collaborative people who value ownership over all. Everything we do is centered around creating a great product, team, and company that lives and breathes our motto: Build Together, Grow Together, Win Together.

As an Analyst Engineer at Branch, you will play a critical supporting role to help business analysts understand our business and make data-driven decisions. You will be expected to collaborate with product engineering teams to understand (and continually improve) their low-level datasets, and to produce higher level composable datasets used for business insights and decision making. Your focus is to enable accurate, scalable, and consistent analytics across the company.

As an Analyst Engineer, you will

  • Dive into our messy low-level data and understand it better than anyone else at the company, working with product eng teams to improve upon it over time;
  • Produce new aggregate data sets using dbt (or similar tools) to turn raw data into reporting-ready formats;
  • Develop and maintain business metrics, definitions, and analytical frameworks to ensure consistent measurement across the company.
  • Produce high quality documentation which our Data Science, product teams, and other stakeholders will rely on for their data work;
  • Work directly with business analysts to ensure the successful adoption and usage of your work;
  • Support ad-hoc analysis requests and learn from them to enhance your reusable data assets;
  • Collaborate with our Data Platform and Data Science teams to iterate on the tooling used for your own work and used by your stakeholders to consume your work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related analytical field
  • 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics-focused roles
  • Advanced SQL skills (joins, window functions, CTEs, analytical queries on large datasets)
  • Hands-on experience with dbt or similar SQL-based modeling platforms
  • Strong grasp of data modeling concepts (fact/dimension tables, star/snowflake schemas)
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data warehouses (Iceberg, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
  • Experience creating and maintaining KPIs, metrics, dashboards, or reports in BI tools
  • Comfort with git/Github and collaborative workflows for analytics code
  • Understanding of data quality principles, testing methodologies, and validation techniques
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences

Bonus points for any of the following

  • Background in the ad tech industry
  • Experience with the technologies we use including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Presto/Trino, dbt, spark, AWS, and github.
  • dbt Analytics Engineer Certification (or equivalent experience)
  • Deep experience with one modern BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Superset)
  • Programming experience in Python or R for analytics
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow
  • Knowledge of data governance and metadata management practices
