Overview: FHI 360 has an exciting internship opportunity for a student interested in growing their skills within the international development sector. Under close supervision, an Intern will perform entry level professional duties which will provide the opportunity for professional training in various functional areas throughout the organization. Internship assignments serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to a global nonprofit development organization.
The Inclusive Economic Participation & Resilience (IEPR) team is a leader in inclusive economic development based in environmentally sustainable livelihoods that foster resilient enterprises and communities that benefit people and the planet. The IEPR team works on a broad range of topics from workforce development, youth employment, and labor market systems to women's economic empowerment, inclusive livelihoods, green jobs, the green economy and sustainable regenerative tourism.
This is a paid internship with a flexible schedule based on project needs.
Anticipated Duration: Spring 2025 Semester: January - May 2025
Hours: Part time, 20 hours per week
Pay Rate: $18.00+/hour

Skills Gained and Learning Opportunities: - Practical experience with a large, global non-profit organization
- Shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with successful research, technical, and/or program management professionals
- Experience working with an inter-disciplinary team addressing global development challenges
- Hands on experience with live projects currently being implemented and projects currently being developed
Anticipated Project(s) and Assignment Details: The intern may contribute to various team or project activities under the direction of their supervisor in the following ways:
- Contribute to research or project activities as assigned by supervisor
- Conduct desk reviews, landscape analyses and/or secondary data analyses
- Organize and participate in team meetings and country calls (e.g., assisting with meeting preparation, meeting minutes, a post-meeting report)
- Support business development efforts, including conducting background research on donors, programs, and strategies and developing summaries that highlight the department's capabilities
- Contribute to project-related presentations, blogs, reports and/or manuscripts
- Assist with administrative tasks, as needed
Qualifications and Competencies: - Currently enrolled, or within one-year post-graduation, in a degree program at a college or university in International Studies, International Relations, Language/Area Studies, Environmental Studies, or related field of study
- Demonstrated interest in related subject matter through studies, work experience, and/or personal travel
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
- Strong writing and research skills
- Articulate, professional, and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Prior experience with international development organization preferred
Typical Physical Demands: - Remote office environment
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift to 5 lbs.

- Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), e-mail
