Senior Consultant, M&A (High Tech & Software Private Equity) 3 days ago – Be among the first 25 applicants Are you ready to make an impact? West Monroe is seeking an experienced consulting analyst with prior experience in technology Mergers and Acquisitions to join our national Mergers and Acquisitions practice. Our team serves an array of interesting and exciting Private Equity and Corporate Strategic clients across the nation. As Senior Consultant in our Mergers and Acquisitions practice, you will serve Private Equity and Strategic clients across the transaction life cycle – from platform acquisitions to mergers/integrations to corporate divestiture/carve‑out transactions, including sell‑side readiness, pre‑close technology and operations due diligence, Day 1 readiness planning, post‑close execution management, and product/technology strategy. In addition to client delivery, you will have the opportunity to assist with business development (hunting new clients and building relationships with existing), along with contributing to internal practice development leadership. Senior Consultants Within West Monroe Have Three Main Responsibilities Client Delivery Support teams serving Private Equity and Corporate Strategic buyers while demonstrating advisory capabilities with high-level client counterparts such as Private Equity Deal Teams, Operating Partners, CTOs, CPOs, and CIOs. Contribute to fast-paced due diligence engagements for Private Equity clients, evaluating SaaS enterprise software, market trends, competitive landscapes, software company operations and financials, utilizing AI and analytics to identify value creation opportunities for strategic decision making. Play a key role in workstream ownership for technology planning, strategy, and post‑close engagements in complex transactions focused on Product Strategy, Target Operating Model development, cloud migration, cost optimization, digital transformation, and other value‑based initiatives. Practice Development Build data‑driven methodologies and assets for evaluating software businesses in a due diligence capacity, and manage related internal initiatives. Enhance analysis and presentation frameworks used in due diligence and product advisory engagements. Collaborate with a team of industry and business consultants to elevate advisory capabilities of the M&A team. Actively participate in the performance management process and in recruiting and retaining top quality consultants. Business Development Support opportunities to provide prospects and clients with post‑close strategy advisory for software businesses; collaborate with practice partners to support these opportunities. Create work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for prospects. Actively participate in M&A industry events. Understand client investment needs/constraints and help tailor proposals appropriately to meet their needs. Attend networking events and actively build and leverage a professional network and affiliate network in the local community. Qualifications 4+ years participating in team-based, client-facing management consulting, private equity, investment banking, market research, or quantitative research function. Experience in, and/or exposure to software/SaaS industry and experienced in specific technology sub-sectors (e.g., FinTech, EdTech, MedTech, Cybersecurity, etc.) preferred, but not mandatory. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving experience. Exceptional PowerPoint creation and Excel analysis skills. Strong communication skills to be able to work with senior investment professionals and/or C-level clients. Ability to travel up to 50%; travel is short term (2-3 days on-site per diligence project, 50-75% during post‑close carve‑out execution). Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent required. Compensation & Benefits Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices. Seattle or Washington, D.C. – $124,100 – $146,000 USD Los Angeles – $130,000 – $152,900 USD New York City or San Francisco – $135,900 – $159,900 USD Other consultancies – $118,200 – $139,000 USD Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance.
