Salary:

The Senior Data Governance Analyst is a key technical advisor supporting the National Park Service (NPS) enterprise data governance efforts. This individual will assist in designing and implementing policies, processes, and best practices to manage NPS data as a strategic asset. The role requires expertise in modern data architectures, enterprise-wide data cataloging, and integration frameworks, along with a high degree of collaboration across business and technical domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of NPS data governance frameworks, standards, and artifacts.
  • Assist federal staff in creating, managing, and promoting policies for data stewardship, metadata standards, and data quality.
  • Contribute to NPS Data Strategy and Public Access Plan initiatives and ensure alignment with departmental priorities.
  • Facilitate data governance workshops and discovery sessions to document and prioritize data management needs.
  • Maintain common data dictionaries and tools that support data asset documentation.
  • Provide guidance on data lifecycle management, data integrity analysis, and data quality metrics.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address data governance challenges across decentralized systems.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business-oriented documentation for non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience supporting enterprise data governance programs.
  • Proven track record developing governance processes, data policy documents, and procedural guidelines.
  • Background in working within large, matrixed organizations, ideally within the federal or public sector.

Required Skills:

  • Deep understanding of databases, metadata standards, and modern data architectures.
  • Intermediate facilitation skills with ability to lead cross-functional discussions and drive issues to resolution.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in tools supporting governance documentation, data quality monitoring, and policy development.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Certification Requirement:
DAMA Certification (e.g., CDMP) or equivalent preferred.

Clearance Requirement:
Must successfully complete a National Agency Check (NAC) or NACI background investigation.

Salary Range:
$110,000 $130,000 annually (Negotiable)
