Our payment risk teams are at the forefront of building key components for our risk platform to support our payment business. We work collaboratively with peer developers, product managers, designers, architects, data scientists, and various business partners to define and develop low-friction, high-precision fraud detection systems that protect our customers and vendors.

We are seeking a strong, passionate engineer to join our team. In this role, you will enhance our platform and protect our customers from potential fraud, which is critical to the livelihood of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), while also unlocking revenue growth.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • \n
  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
  • \n
  • Proven experience in implementation of scalable SaaS applications in Java.
  • \n
  • Expertise in building and maintaining large-scale, high-volume, high-availability, low-latency systems.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated experience in the payment industry or in developing fraud detection applications.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in version control, code reviews, testing, and deployment automation.
  • \n
  • Bonus: Ability to mentor and guide other engineers in best practices and advanced technical concepts.
  • \n
  • Bonus: Experience with machine learning model integration and data pipeline design.
  • \n
  • Bonus: Experience in front-end or full-stack development.

The estimated salary range for this role is noted below for our San Jose based role. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

San Jose pay range

$146,900—$176,300 USD

The estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper, UT. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL’s bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

Draper UT pay range

$124,900—$149,900 USD
