Position Overview:
Automation Team
While the open role is specifically for web UI testing, the automation team is also responsible for mobile, API, performance testing, and robotic process automation (RPA).
We run our full suite of over 2000 web UI and mobile tests and investigate all failures twice a week. Most of our tests are web UI-based, utilizing a custom-built framework with C#, .NET, NUnit, and Selenium. The mobile tests are built on a variant of the web UI framework adapted for mobile testing and built with Appium. All these tests are integrated into Azure DevOps (ADO) and are scheduled to run mornings between 1-8 am. At 8:30 am daily, a summary email is sent to the team for investigation that day with links to ADO run reports for each suite.
We use Ready API for API regression and JMeter for performance testing. For RPA, we use Automation 360 to create and run bots on a schedule to automate repetitive business tasks.
SDET
The primary responsibility of the SDET is to maintain our web UI suites. This involves investigating, troubleshooting, debugging, and fixing test issues, as well as reporting any site or system issues or bugs to the wider team that arise from the daily web UI automation runs. Once proficient in these tasks, the SDET will also be responsible for writing new tests for various suites and other areas as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience with Selenium, including writing and maintaining test scripts, investigating failures, and debugging.
- Strong proficiency in C#, our primary programming language. Candidates with significant experience in Java or other languages will also be considered.
- Understanding of industry-standard programming practices.
- Good knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern.
- Familiarity with NUnit assertions or similar libraries
- Proficiency with git-based version control systems.
- Working knowledge of SQL databases
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
