Role Summary

As the Staff Continuous Improvement Partner, Material Planning, you will drive a culture of continuous improvement and deliver significant process improvements within the end-to-end planning functions. The individual will lead & program manage high-impact CI projects, collaborate with supply chain, technology and operational partners to drive strategic business objectives and champion key business and system launches to success


Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification and implementation of CI initiatives across all aspects of the planning lifecycle and maintain a portfolio of CI projects for the planning function 
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies ( Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process Control) to analyze complex planning processes to produce outputs that drive efficiency through the value chain from procurement to distribution operations 
  • Lead systemic improvement and enhancement efforts in the advanced planning tool Servigistics and develop a structure of governance between the software vendor and Rivian parts planning for key features rollout
  • Collaborate with NPI/procurement and planning and provide insights to drive strategic procurement & planning decisions to minimize E&O 
  • Lead the planning readiness efforts for all new site launches and decommissioning within the service infrastructure by closely collaborating with planning and strategy 
  • Champion change management activities and document to ensure successful adoption of new feature rollout and the associated planning process changes in the advanced planning tool Servigistics
  • Program manage high risk/constrained parts in the service network resulting from critical field campaigns/events collaborating with planning and ops teams developing a path to fulfillment 
  • Identify areas of opportunities and drive accountability with planning and ops to achieve MEIO in the network while maintaining optimal facing fill rate and financial performance 
  • Build a risk management structure, what-if framework to track and analyze supply constrained scenarios, lifetime buy shortages and high-visibility field campaigns
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of planning processes and the impact of CI initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Masters preferred
  • 5-8+ years of experience in supply chain planning, with a strong focus on continuous improvement preferred
  • Proven experience leading and delivering successful CI projects within a planning environment using different methodologies
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced planning systems (preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to sit and stand for 8-12hours in the day
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in an environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot or cold condition

Pay Disclosure

  • Salary Rate for California Based Applicants: $112,000 to $140,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
  • Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
