Job Description
Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district is seeking a dependable Substitute Paraprofessional to work in classroom settings and provide academic and behavioral assistance on a flexible basis. The selected candidate will support students of varying needs, collaborate with educators, and adapt quickly to different classroom environments. Completion of required state-mandated fingerprinting and background clearance is required.
Responsibilities:
Assist teachers by supporting lessons, preparing materials, and helping students engage in classwork.
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students needing extra instructional or behavioral support.
Supervise students during transitions, classroom tasks, and non-instructional periods.
Monitor student behavior, follow established routines, and help maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
Document student progress and observations, and communicate appropriately with supervising staff.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; some post-secondary coursework in education or child development preferred.
Experience working with children or students in an educational, tutoring, or support role preferred.
Willingness to complete and clear fingerprinting and background check per state requirements.
Strong communication, patience, adaptability, and the ability to follow instructional guidance.
Comfortable working in dynamic classroom settings and supporting diverse learners.
