Job Description
Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A local school district is seeking a reliable Substitute Paraprofessional to provide support during the absence of regular instructional aides. This position involves assisting in classroom operations, student interaction, and reinforcing learning targets on a flexible, as-needed basis.
Responsibilities / Duties:
Provide short-term support to instructional staff, executing paraprofessional duties during coverage assignments
Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce content, support remediation and facilitate learning
Help prepare instructional materials, set up learning stations, and maintain an organized environment
Supervise students in classroom, hallways, transitions, and other non-instructional settings
Monitor student engagement and behavior, document relevant feedback, and follow established protocols
Adapt quickly to different grade levels, subjects and teacher preferences
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework in education or related field beneficial
Experience working with children in academic or behavioral support roles preferred
Flexibility, strong communication skills, and ability to follow directions in varied classroom settings
Professional demeanor, punctuality, and commitment to educational support
