The Role: Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking a/an Sustainability Chemistry Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.
Positioned within the CTO Advanced Materials Group, this role offers applicants the chance to collaborate within a team dedicated to developing environmentally friendly and sustainable materials.
What You'll Do: •Assist with new polymer synthesis and characterization.
•Assist with membrane formulation work
•Assist with small molecule synthesis
•Functionalize biobased polymers for different applications.
What We Seek: •A third-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
•Graduate student pursuing a master's or PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.
•A good knowledge of Organic Chemistry and synthesis required
•A good knowledge of membrane characterization will be a plus but not necessary

Outstanding Candidates Will Have: •Hands on organic chemistry synthesis experience
•Good knowledge of polymer chemistry
•Knowledge of polymeric membranes and formulation will be nice to have but not necessary.
•Porous Membrane and Materials characterization experience
•Curiosity and excitement about Sustainable materials research and development
•Some knowledge of biochemistry
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year: •A third- or fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
•Graduate student pursuing a master's or PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.
