Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg Tele position caring for geriatric patients on an acute care for elders unit.

Responsibilities

• Position is on a 39-bed acute care for elders unit in a hospital setting
• Approximately 80% of patients are over 65 years of age
• Patient case load includes typical med/surg patients with a focus on geriatrics and up to 12 telemetry patients
• Expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Five beds are dedicated to end of life care
• Night shifts are 12 hours
• Work closely with an interdisciplinary geriatric team and inpatient hospice staff
• Unit specializes in maintaining functional status for older adults during hospitalization
• This is the only acute care for elders unit of its kind in the region

Requirements

• Active RN license required
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred
• Current copies of all active certifications must be provided for consideration
• Application, skills checklist, license verification via NURSYS, and two references required
