Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) position requiring 2 years of recent LDRP experience and active NC or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in an 8-bed LDRP setting within a community hospital
  • Average patient census is 8
  • Patient population includes laboring mothers, postpartum, newborns, and GYN surgical cases
  • Patient ratios follow AWHONN Guidelines
  • Shift is 7p-7a with a weekend rotation every other weekend
  • No call requirements
  • Travelers may be required to float to Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children's Hospital within the Central Division region as needed and within scope of practice
  • Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell for medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, GE Corometrics fetal monitors, and GE Panda Warmer
  • Support team includes a CNA, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, case manager, 24/7 RT, hospitalist/OB physicians, pediatrician, and lactation consultants
  • No remote telemetry monitoring is used on the unit
  • Travelers must be willing to float within the defined region; if floating mid-shift, travel time is compensated
  • Departmental and facility orientation provided, including 2 days specifically for the department
  • Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
  • Up to 6 days of requested time off are allowed, but contracted hours must be met by extending the contract if needed
  • Navy blue scrubs or business casual are required to and from work; hospital-issued scrubs are worn while on duty
  • Free parking is available on site

  • Active NC or compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP RN experience
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP
  • Experience with circulating C-sections, newborn care including heel sticks and 24-hour testing, NAS scoring, and lactation support required
  • Must not be a first-time traveler
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the home unit
