About the Role
A documentary filmmaker based in Pittsburgh is seeking a mid-level Video Editor for a personal documentary project featuring life story interviews. This two-phase project combines technical file management with creative editing to produce a compelling demo reel from existing interview footage.

Key Responsibilities

Phase 1 - Technical

• Meet in person in Pittsburgh for secure file transfer
• Assist with backing up interview footage between drives
• Organize and verify file integrity during transfer
• Document file structure and naming conventions

Phase 2 - Creative

• Create a 1:30-1:50 minute demo reel from interview footage
• Implement provided graphics and music according to specifications
• Follow provided script for content selection and flow
• Apply consistent graphic treatment throughout
• Execute typography animations as specified
• Maintain focus on interview content while enhancing with subtle graphics

Requirements

• Located in or able to travel to Pittsburgh for initial meeting
• Experience with documentary-style interview editing
• Strong organizational skills for file management
• Proficiency in professional editing software
• Understanding of typography and graphic animation
