Position Summary:\
The Pediatric Cardiology Research Nurse Coordinator provides and directs nursing care in a research environment coordinating the conduct of clinical research protocols in the hospital and clinic settings with an emphasis on the screening, enrolling, and monitoring of patient candidates/participants. The Research RN Coordinator is involved in clinical research utilizing advanced nursing assessment and research skills in the conduct and coordination of clinical research and in interacting with research subjects. The Research RN Coordinator must possess professional knowledge of a wide range of nursing concepts, principles and practices, as well as knowledge related to the conduct and coordination of clinical research involving human subjects. The Research RN Coordinator facilitates and coordinates a number of research activities, including sponsored clinical trials, cooperative group studies, and investigator-initiated research, as applicable on an inpatient and outpatient basis. \

Position Requirements: \
BSN from an accredited institution \
Current Illinois RN license \
3-4 years of prior Pediatric Cardiology experience \
Clinical research experience strongly desired \
Possess professional knowledge of a wide range of nursing concepts, principles, and practices to perform highly specialized nursing assignments and phlebotomy as well as knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology \
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, International Conference on Harmonization Guidelines, FDA Guidance \
Research Coordinator Certification or willingness to obtain Certification within 3 years \
CPR certification \
Flexibility in work hours to accommodate research participant visits
