Job Description

Our client is a Medical Device manufacturer seeking a Plant Manager to oversee all daily operations of a manufacturing facility to ensure that production goals are met safely, efficiently, and within budget. The Plant Manager will have P&L responsibility, manage a team of 150, and serve as the crucial link between the plant floor staff and senior management, translating corporate strategy into practical action.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct daily operations to meet or exceed production targets and customer expectations. This includes managing production schedules and coordinating activities across departments including production, engineering, quality control, shipping, and inventory.
  • Implement and enforce a comprehensive safety program to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Monitor operations and implement quality control procedures to ensure that all products meet established standards and specifications, while actively working to reduce waste and defects.
  • Develop, manage, and track plant budgets, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation to achieve financial objectives and increase profitability (EBITDA targets).
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance plant efficiency, productivity, and overall performance.
  • Oversee the maintenance of all plant equipment and machinery, implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Medical Device manufacturer (mandatory)
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, or a related field is required. Master's degree (MBA) preferred.
  • 8-12 years of operations leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive lean and continuous improvement experience.
  • Prior experience with P&L ownership.
  • Familiarity with high mix manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities.
  • Superlative knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
