Water and Sewer Plant Operators
Join our team as the Water and Sewer Utility Plant Operator for the City of Helena-West Helena, AR
where you will play a crucial role in operating, managing and maintaining one of our two water plants and one of two sets of sewer ponds of our citys water and sewer department. If you possess licenses for: Waste Water 3, Water Treatment 3, and Water Distribution 3, pleasant
disposition, excellent work ethic, strong leadership skills, and have a deep understanding of water
and sewer operations and practices, we invite you to apply for this opportunity. Must be able to commute well and send in reports required to the Arkansas Department of Health, ADEQ, Arkansas
Rural Water and other various agencies in order to maintain the city compliance with all required
standards set forth by these entities. Will be expected to repair water lines, stop leaks, pull meters,
install meters, pull waste water pumps, free up cutter heads, make taps for new services, keep
sewer pump stations free of weeds and vines, maintain waste water sprinkler system, run a backhoe and make sure the aerator is working daily.

Compensation and Benefits: The City of Helena-West Helena offers a competitive salary
commensurate with experience and qualifications. The starting salary for this position is $50,000
DOE. The City provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and
Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System (APERS) contribution, annual vacation based on continuous years of experience, sick leave, and paid holidays in accordance with the City of Helena-West Helena.
